 Hello 🙂 I’m eGe

I am an artist, a passionate one. I don’t start, I don’t stop. It’s an infinite process of experience and expression.

Painting… “Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening” had a great impact and influence on me by the age of 6. It was the first painting that amazed me just by being so different and deeper then any other painting that I’ve seen until then. In the very beginning the outcome was more important to me, than the process. It didn’t take long to realize that getting lost in the creating process is what I actually enjoy. No boundaries, infinite possibilities, freedom.
Starting with Graffiti and Urban Artistry I studied lettering spending a lot of time in the library to learn about Typography rules and get a feeling for aesthetics to eventually break the rules and add my ideas by practicing hours and hours on a daily basis. I also made characters and portraits but mainly focused on lettering because it fascinated me the most. Between the mid and late 90s I experimented a lot with Crossmedia Design using my Sketches, Photographs, my Computer and any object that would fit in, in any way, to mix and fuse and put them together. Depending on the circumstances I really like intuitive freestyle painting, just going with the flow or doing conceptional work.

Photography… Well, I think I can’t imagine a life without my camera. Before the digital revolution photography was quite an expensive thing. My first lesson was: 1 moment, 1 shot.
When you look at my photographs, you look through my eyes but if you understand and feel, then you actually see through my eyes. Yet, I don’t take pictures to show you how I see things, I take pictures to show you what is there, the way it actually is. Authentic. At least I try 😉

I don’t know what this blog is for… I think this is the best alternative to good old Myspace I used to enjoy a lot between 2004 and 2009 before it got messed up…

The quality of my posts/pictures varies a lot, not everything is about perfectionism, don’t mind me 😉 Sometimes I just like sharing an idea, a thought, a picture or just my current mood.

I can do better and I can do worse, I guess some of you understand what I mean, some don’t but that’s ok.
